10s of Millions of us are keenly watching from Canada and are so appalled. Thank you for your truth telling at the moral level. The cruelty is indeed revealing.

North of the border, we are using what levers we have to vocalize, step into our own moral strength, and combat the cavalier bullying that Trump and his coterie are unfurling. It’s such a bonkers cluster of tests, and a testament to the dangers of a party enthralled by the cult of this narcissist-in-chief.

Yes it is very important to hold the line on this one exiled man. Yes he is just one man. That should make it is so much easier for these two Presidents to make sure he is released immediately. By not releasing him they are setting all kinds of precedents. First, it normalizes the breaking of a justice system; second the elimination of compassion is acceptable (oh I almost forgot: Elon Musk thinks that compassion is a major weakness); third it sets the President above the 9 justices and liable to ignore SCOTUS again; fourth it purports to show there are laws that do not apply to the President. It is self-evident that an administrative error of this magnitude needs to be rectified.

Not only are you NOT unhinged, your emotions are understandable and it is brave to express them. I agree with your assessment of the danger that stares us in the face at this very moment.

I'm with you, Mike. It seems that we are going to have to think seriously about a previously unimaginable action, the one for which we have Constitutional grounds. Thank you for your courage and the straightforwardness we've needed so badly from our politicians and press, of whom only a few aren't afraid to say the whole truth.

I know what it is like to feel ashamed of family and friends who voted for Trump and still support his presidency. One of them said to me today that they simply cannot know what is true these days on any matter, including Abrego Garcia's incarceration in El Salvador. I pointed out that the Supreme Court's decision in the Abrego Garcia case is fact; that the statements that Trump and Bukele and Bondi and Rubio and Miller made yesterday at a televised meeting are facts. We can, and we do, know the facts of Abrego Garcia's deportation, and therefore we know the truth - our government illegally deported him, was ordered by the courts to return him, and has said clearly that it will not.

Americans may have rejected the British in the Declaration of Independence. It seems now, despite the Founders rolling in their graves, Americans have also rejected the Magna Carta of 1215. In some ways at least as important as the American Constitution. We have regressed 800 years by allowing the President to be above the law and the guarantee of a fair trial.

I'm with you, Mike. I admire your bravery for sharing such a raw, impassioned statement. I'm as upset about the situation as you are - not *just* the horrific, unlawful deportation; but also the lack of outrage on the part of the majority of our so-called lawmakers and a vast swath of our fellow citizens. It's hard not to despair.
