They had no issues getting the Tate brothers out of Romania. For sure they can get this person or any other out of El Salvador. It's bullshit. I completely agree with you. Thanks for posting.
I think stories like this man's will be used to justify why everyone needs to carry a digital ID on them at all times. That's why they're in no hurry to set this right. If it appears relatively straightforward to rectify cases of "accidental" deportation - as it should be - it doesn't have the same impact. This is meant to generate fear.
There are a lot of bad things (to put it mildly) coming out of the Trump regime but this business of sending people without due process ... to a country not even of their origin ... to a prison/labor style camp ... it's beyond insane. They damn well ought to be getting him out ... and it never should have happened in the first place.
Where was due process for those that were raped and murdered when the border was opened. He is still alive that can be fixed. Bring the dead back to life, then You may have a a justifiable point!
What-aboutism is easily shown to be a disreputably low form of logic.
In the United States, our own police forces and judicial system catalog that immigrants commit crimes at significantly lower rates than U.S. citizens, so the notion that those same migrants are somehow are all rapists and murderers is bunk. In wrongfully believing that jailing them without due process is okay, you are allowing yourself to be part of the performance.
Nothing makes it okay to forgo due process. If Trump and Rubio claim to have found criminals, let them have the hearings to prove it. You would want a hearing for yourself, if you were wrongfully detained off the streets.
Related to this, the United States should own all of its own prisons. There should be no prison contracting companies and certainly no contracting with prisons abroad. We should take full responsibility for those we imprison and bear the full financial costs. The goal should be justice, not jailing innocent people like you (as I presume you are). That entails the need for due process so that only the right people are jailed, and full control of the jails so that we could correct our mistakes when they occur. That, in turn, requires the integrity to admit our mistakes, which the Trump regime lacks.
Glad to see you write about this. It cannot be allowed to stand on the administration’s lame excuse. It’s beyond shocking that they think it’s just fine to leave him there. These are very sick subhumans. Where there’s one innocent man deported, there are more, probably many more.
This would appear to be totally inaccurate that this error cannot be fixed. Where there is a will there is a way. The giant US cannot negotiate or put pressure on tiny El Salvador to release this man? There are so many ways. The “error that can’t be fixed” is once again an abnegation of responsibility, cold hearted callousness and a lack of compassion. “We can’t be bothered” is the people’s government’s message that it has for its people. Or put another way, “We, the government, no longer represent the people”.
SKIPPING PAST THE TRUMP DISTRACTIONS TO TRUMP’S END GAME
Ultimately, Trump wants to control who propers, who’s poor, who wins, who loses, who’s free, who’s repressed, who can stay in America, who’s deported, who lives and who dies!
If the US admits to then illegal deportation, but then claims the US has no ability to bring him home, then none of us are safe. Seizure without due process is about as a violation of the constitution gets.
Thank you for speaking of this. The patent cruelty of using innocent people to terrorize everyone else into submission is indicative of authoritarianism. To the mainstream media : please stop talking about « Constitutional crisis » !
Most of the current political activity is not even acting , it’s serendipitous decision making with extremely limited ability to recognize success by the degree of suffering and angst, followed by a denial of being involved .
There are 335 million Americans that are less safe, that are suffering economically because of the resources that the flood of immigrants siphoned out of the system to just maintain some semblance of order...lower wages, crime, violence etc etc etc...if this is as you say, that is regrettable BUT it is much less of an atrocity that that which has led us to the point where "mass deportations" were in order...dont blame this on the Trumpaloon...Biden, Harris Mayorkas own this debacle in its entirety...
Economic evidence clearly shows that immigrants do not endanger the United States, because they commit crimes at lower rates than our own citizens. They also make us wealthier, because they do not take the jobs that citizens want, and their presence expands the economy, counterbalancing the ill effects of our own low birthrates.
We need to get immigration under control because it is currently a mess, yet immigrants were part of the reason that Joe Biden's economy was the strongest in the industrialized world, regardless of whatever is wrongfully said about it.
The difference between illegal immigrants and legal residence crime rates is immaterial…they do not have the right to be here to commit crime…live or work…its fundamental. there is a way to become eligible to come to America…jumping the border isnt one of them.
An illegitimate arrest and detainment, flying an innocent man to the horrors of certain violence and death —to a primitive horror chamber in El Salvador…unwillingness to return this innocent man to his family and to his legal status in the US..ICE officials, Trump, Rubio need to go before Congress to immediately take responsibility and remedy this. Justice will always trump the supercilious and shallow fear of “optics”. Dems and Repubs with conscience need to fly to El Salvador and retrieve this man this week!
Put Blame where Blame belongs. If Globalist wouldn't trying to take over the world, if Democrats weren't trying to take complete control of the government and illegally opening the border and allowing the rape and murder of innocent women and children than an innocent man, if He is, wouldn't be sitting where he is right now, would He?
I mean, this is the moral equivalent of blaming the Holocaust on the Treaty of Versailles. You can trace causal chains all you want—but when you use abstract grievances to justify the imprisonment of an innocent man, you’ve abandoned moral responsibility.
If you want to make that argument, go ahead.
But don’t pretend it’s justice.
Don’t pretend it’s governance.
And don’t pretend it’s anything other than performance.

Great. I've always loved watching Terry Gilliam's *Brazil*, but never wanted to live in it.
