He has always had a hero complex. He’s always had main character syndrome. I’ve seen it ever since he called the dude who saved the boys a “pedo”. Musk only wants the world saved if he’s the one doing it.
I think it can be both on purpose and due to mental illness, (malignant narcissism). Both Trump and Musk are cry babies who emotionally manipulate others to gain sympathy and attention but also to get others to do what they want. Their paranoia comes from their insecurities but also their realization that they would want to jail or murder someone who was as manipulative and dishonest as they are. What is Trump always accusing his enemies of being? Liars and cheats who conspire to get him.
At what point when black is delivered as white does it drive us to create a rebellion? When do we put wiser heads together to create a force of opposition?
I have sometimes struggled to find the words to describe, succinctly, the real depth of the threat we face. Give me ten minutes and a lot of paragraphs and I do a fairly good job. But that's not the best way to open a conversation with someone you're trying to bring into the fold. These two sentences, Mike, are really outstanding. I think I'm going to memorize them:
"Musk represents a techno-libertarian worldview that sees democracy itself as inefficient, obsolete technology ready to be “disrupted.” In this framework, democratic constraints aren't valuable checks on power—they're unnecessary friction in an operating system that needs optimization."
Important to know what the goal of one system is versus another when we talk about efficiencies. The goal of the system being touted here is to consolidate wealth and therefore power in the hands of the few, those who “deserve” it and who will best wield it. That is the opposite of the democracy which has as its the goal benefitting the majority of people.
Sure. My point wasn’t about understanding the concepts, though. It was a compliment to Mike’s crafting of two sentences that succinctly capture the essence of the techno-libertarian game plan. I say that in the context of, how do you share this knowledge with someone new—someone who is greatly troubled by Trump’s actions, but isn’t remotely aware of the neoreactionary “philosophy” of Musk/Thiel/Yarvin & company.

Of course we do.
But we’re not going to, because that would be illegal.
See Musk, that wasn’t that hard, was it?

Excellent post. These views need to be amplified until Muskovites finally get it
