The gradual normalization of Elon Musk's unprecedented power concentration reveals a dangerous erosion of democratic norms. We must confront this reality to preserve our constitutional order.
I recommend reading Deleuze’s short essay ‘Postscript on Societies of Control.'
If you adopt his language (he really aced it) to describe some of what you present, you could easily cut your word count down by 25%. ...a mild jab for good fortune.
It seems much of your concerns are over the 'posthuman' contempt for nature and life itself? I agree.
The posthuman solution for "problematic childhood innocence" is especially alarming. They want to xexualize toddlers out of spite, because humanity holds childhood innocence as something sacred. Children being more valued than dust, offends "New Materialism" and the post-human impulse to decenter-humans into irrelevence. Even more strange is that the Department of Education uses such posthuman papers for policy research. Go look, its on their website.
Regarding 'anti-democracy.'
The examples that you present are weak and uninteresting.
The American Founding Fathers hit a lot harder against democracy and with ancient wisdom backing their arguments with teeth., ...your examples read like neutered nerdy novelty of degens feeling edgy. Such as the Thiel character you mentioned.
Being anti-democracy is an American tradition. Bad ideas deserve no mercy, and every American must be constantly reminded and warned that tyranny grows in the soils of diversity, flowered in emotional appeals and nice smelling pro-social causes.
Its death. It destroys social-trust and collapses civilization. We have enough history, wo where foolishness is inexcusable. To paraphrase Aristotle's warning; only tyranny benefits from diversity and democracy is one of the methods used to disguise the consolidation of power.
Question. What 'Democratic Institutions' are you referring? I can't even guess to what you are on about.
America has a institutions to specifically prevent democracy. ...such as the separation of powers and the electoral college.
If DOGE is doing as you suggest? Than GOOD.
It's easier to nullify and dispose of a rigid closed system, ... than a narccistic blob of strangers pushing pencils of egotism in their beaurocratic feudal utopia. Made worse by being enriched with diversity, who's only loyalty is to a tyrants paychecks and not the people or the place.
Removing creeping feudalism requires a scorched earth strategy.
Nullifying a rigid closed system such as "technocracy" can be as easy as pointing out it's contradictions and mocking it to death with memes, like we did to the Soviet Union.
Fear nothing, resist much. Be grateful for the opportunity to become heroes.
Other than calling our reps in Washington, what can we do? Repub leaders are either too afraid of him or don’t have a conscience &/or backbone. Look at the cabinet they are letting in. Thoughts on what we can do???
Brilliant exposition but you need an editor. Your points are piercing and correct. Find the one paragraph among the several making it and pare it out.
This would be a much more powerful and useful polemic if it was 1/3 the length.
This note is sent in admiration of your vision and a desire only to make it more effective. Sharpen your arrow.
Agreed; and I don't mind reading long pieces UNLESS they're long because they're improperly edited.
Great work Mike. Thanks for taking the time to write this. Over here, ‘across the pond’ it all still feels unreal.

Fortune and Glory.
Thanks so much for the good quotes I will use as ammo against this maladministration.
Thank you. Your insight and analysis are excellent. Will share this with family and friends who are not on social media.
